Setting Realistic Expectations While Dreaming Big

In the first episode, I shared some of the lessons I learned along my journey from zero five figure months.

I get honest and real with you about what I did and where I fumbled.

I wanted to continue that momentum of bringing you the #truth.

I am doing a mini-series where I share 5 sneak peeks of what it actually takes to build a profitable business alongside kids.

Last week I talked about How Feeling Uncomfortable Has Changed My Business, Today I want to talk about how to set realistic expectations while still dreaming big.

Dreaming big is the jump-off point to creating success.

But with dreaming big we must acknowledge that building a business takes time.

We must realize that if it was that easy to build a business then everyone would be doing it.

This does not mean not to dream big.

What it does mean is that if you are expecting to post once and sell out your practice this is not realistic.

And you will cause more damage than good (to your own motivation and self-esteem) by thinking in this way.

When I talk about dreaming big what I am talking about is what is possible for you over time…like a year from now, 3 years from now.

Not Tomorrow.

Not next week.

Like when a baby is born you don’t expect him to walk tomorrow.

You know it’s a long term plan like in the first 18 months or so.

Starting a business is the same way, it’s by no means a quick fix and it does not come without effort.

The moment you start to accept that, the easier it will be for you to problem solve so that you CAN reach the level of success you desire.

It also means, there will be sacrifices that you will have to make.

In parenting we make sacrifices for our kids so that THEY can thrive.
But these sacrifices will ultimately pay off multifold.

 

And the same happens in business.

See if it was really that easy, if you could just send a couple of emails and make $10,000 then everyone would do it.

 

If it was that easy, if you could simply follow steps 1,2,3 then…why would anyone still have a 9-5 job?

 

One thing I know for sure, from my own experience and from the 10 successful entrepreneurs that I have interviewed over the last couple of months is that building a business takes time, commitment and work.

 

Which is why coaching exists.

 

Every successful entrepreneur has had a coach or mentor to help them along their journey.

 

Because it’s not always a straight path.

 

And sometimes you cannot see problems in your own business because you are so close to them.

 

It’s a costly mistake to think you can go at it alone.

 

How many training programs would you have to purchase, how much time would you have to invest and how much heartache would you have to endure before you see that getting the guidance from a coach that has been there can help you to save time, money and energy?

 

Even Steve Jobs had a coach.

 

I am not saying that I [or the coach you choose] has all the answers to every problem in your life.

 

And if someone says that that then RUN the other way.

 

What I am saying is that if you want support and results in your business then I am your girl.

 

My clients have proven over and over that they are able to get results through coaching with me.

 

Turning a profit in their business.

 

Profit is different than income.

 

Income is the money coming in.

 

Profit is the money remaining AFTER expenses (yes, even after paying for the coaching).
Imagine what it would do for your business if you could actually support your family with your business profit?
